2016 Hollywood Diversity Report to be released

Report by UCLA’s Bunche Center for African American Studies examines diversity in TV and movies

The 2016 Hollywood Diversity Report, which is produced by the Race and Hollywood Project at the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies, will be released Thursday, February 25. 

Darnell Hunt, director of the Bunche Center and lead author of the report, as well as co-authors Ana-Christina Ramon and Michael Tran, will discuss the report’s findings, followed by a news conference.

This will be the third in a series of reports that examine the relationship between diversity and the bottom line in the entertainment industry. The most comprehensive report of its kind, this year’s report includes an in-depth examination of viewer ratings, broken down by ethnicity, and a look at social media engagement.

Members of the media planning to cover the event should RSVP to the media contact. On the day of the event, journalists should check in with a media relations representative at Haines Hall.


Broadcast media vehicles are required to park in the yellow loading zone on the east side of Portola Plaza, which is adjacent to Haines Hall (map). Loading zones will be marked as reserved for media trucks. 

Print media may park at Parking Structure 5 (map). The daily parking fee is $12.
