UCLA football fans get ready to fire it up at Beat ’SC Bonfire and Rally


The UCLA community is ready to heat things up with the Beat ’SC Bonfire and Rally. The much-anticipated annual event will be held in UCLA’s Wilson Plaza on Nov. 17 beginning at 6 p.m. At this time, thousands of UCLA football fans and members of the campus community will unite to show support for the Bruins, who will take the field against their crosstown rivals, the USC Trojans, on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Rose Bowl. The game is scheduled to kickoff around 7:30 p.m.

The Beat ’SC Bonfire and Rally will also feature former Bruin defensive lineman Donovan Carter, who graduated from UCLA in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and currently stars in the HBO show “Ballers.” Carter, along with a second special guest, also a former Bruin football player and 2012 UCLA alumnus, will introduce the team to the crowd.


Participants will include:

UCLA football coach Jim Mora and members of the UCLA football team
UCLA Spirit Squad
UCLA student dance and a capella groups
UCLA gymnastics coach Valorie Kondos Fields and members of the UCLA gymnastics team
UCLA men’s water polo team
UCLA Olympians
UCLA students and alumni

Limited parking for satellite trucks will be available on a first-come, first-served basis on the west side of Wilson Plaza. Trucks should be in place before 3 p.m. Media may also park in the bus cut-out lane on Charles E. Young Drive North, just west of Westwood Plaza off Sunset Boulevard, or Lot R, just east of Westwood Plaza.
