UCLA faculty are invited to apply for a newly established $25,000 Faculty Climate Action Champion Award. An announcement of the award was made on Aug. 19 by the UC Global Climate Leadership Council and the UCLA Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research James S. Economou in an email from Economou and UCLA Associate Vice Chancellor for Environment and Sustainability Mark Gold.

As part of the UC Carbon Neutrality Initiative, the award provides support for climate change research, teaching and engagement. The champions and their projects should also inspire others to become engaged in research and education focused on achieving carbon neutrality.

Faculty with Academic Senate appointments are eligible and invited to submit a two-page climate action program plan and a CV highlighting their leadership activities. The application deadline is Sept. 14. For more information and a link to the application, please visit the Faculty Climate Action Champion webpage.
