Immerse yourself in Afghan culture and cuisine during the UCLA Hammer Museum's "Conflict Kitchen and Afghan Cuisine," Wednesday, Aug. 19, 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the Billy Wilder Theater.
The multisensory event crafted by Dawn Weleski, co-director of Conflict Kitchen, a Pittsburgh restaurant that offers food from countries with which the U.S. is in conflict. Most importantly, the event — like Conflict Kitchen — seeks to offer a medium for presenting cultures and people beyond a political standpoint and the narrow lens of media headlines.
This event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required and available at the box office one hour before the program. One ticket per person on a first-come, firstdserved basis, so early arrival is suggested.
