Roberto Miranda

The next concert in the Hammer’s JazzPOP festival will feature bassist Roberto Miranda and his music for quartet. Miranda, adjunct associate professor in the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, is known for his propulsive sense of swing, gorgeous tone, and generosity as an improviser and accompanist. Performing along with Miranda will be Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, viola; Wayne Peet, piano; and Mekala Session, drums.

The free event will take place from 8 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 10 in the museum’s courtyard. More information found here.

JazzPOP is curated by San Francisco Bay Area bassist Lisa Mezzacappa.
