Dr. Bill Piskorowski, a health sciences clinical professor and associate dean for community-based clinical education in the UCLA School of Dentistry, was named a Fellow by the American College of Dentists. Piskorowski’s selection was based on his leadership, achievements and involvement in the dental profession and community.
Piskorowski received his D.D.S. degree from Loyola University and owned his own private practice in Michigan for more than 25 years. He left private practice for academia in 2006 when he became the assistant dean for community-based dental education at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. The program grew from four sites to more than 30 sites under his management. He came to UCLA in 2017 to start a similar program at the dental school.
In 2013, Piskorowski received the William J. Gies Award for Outstanding Innovation by a Dental Educator as recognition of his achievements in this area and in 2014, he received the Emmett C. Bolden Dentist Citizen of the Year Award from the Michigan Dental Association.
The American College of Dentists is an organization founded in 1920 to promote and encourage growth and expansion of the dental profession.
