Lauren McCarthy, assistant professor of design and media arts at UCLA, is featured in Cypress College Art Gallery’s first group exhibition, “Authenticate.”

The exhibition centers on the culture of the internet and emerging questions regarding veracity, trust and transparency. The exhibition includes videos and other representations of online art work, which examine a crisis of confidence within an industrializing web culture. “Authenticate” will run through April 11, and will feature events related to the exhibition.

McCarthy will also be participating in Hard to Read and Navel’s first collaboration “Lovelace in Los Angeles” on March 16. “Lovelace” celebrates the past, present, and future of women and the internet. More information can be found on the Facebook event page.
