Dr. Karol Watson, a professor of medicine in the division of cardiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, was named the Elliot Rapaport Cardiologist of the Year by the California chapter of the American College of Cardiology. She was presented with the honor at organization’s annual awards dinner on Nov. 17.
Watson was recognized for her professionalism, national service, leadership and efforts to foster the future of cardiology.
Watson is an attending cardiologist and serves as director of the UCLA Women’s Cardiovascular Health Center and the UCLA-Barbra Streisand Women’s Heart Health Program and co-director of the UCLA Program in Preventive Cardiology. She is also director of the UCLA Fellowship Program in cardiovascular diseases.
