Dr. Rick Harrison, professor of clinical pediatrics and Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, has been appointed interim Chief Medical Officer for Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
A graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine and fellowship-trained in pediatric critical care at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Harrison has served many roles within the UCLA medical enterprise, including Chief of the Medical Staff and Medical Director of Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA. In 2011, he received the Sherman M. Mellinkoff award from the David Geffen School of Medicine UCLA as one “whose teaching exemplifies the dedication to the art of medicine and to the finest in doctor-patient relationships.”
