Dribble across campus while fighting pediatric cancer during the 7th annual “Dribble for the Cure." Participants in the Oct. 26 will dribble basketballs along a 1.2-mile route that starts at UCLA's Drake Stadium and winds through campus.
The fundraiser, which supports the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and the treatment of pediatric cancer patients at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, is a collaboration of the UCLA men’s and women's basketball teams, the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, Mattel Children’s Hospital Cancer Research Program and the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m in front of UCLA's Drake Stadium, followed by a welcome ceremony at 10 a.m. Dribbling starts at 10:15 a.m. Bring your own basketball or purchase one at the event. At the finish line, grab a snapshot with UCLA's basketball players.
Since its start seven years ago, ‘Dribble for the Cure” has raised more than $700,000 for the battle against pediatric cancer.
“With funding for pediatric cancer research declining, we are grateful to UCLA and Bruin Basketball for this incredible program recognizing our families fighting cancer,” said Jeri Wilson, executive director of the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. “I know the Mattel Children’s Hospital will strive every day to ensure their research delivers the greatest impact both locally and nationally.”
