To honor his contributions to the analysis and design of cyber-physical systems, Paulo Tabuada, professor of electrical engineering in the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering, has been elected fellow of the International Federation of Automatic Control.

Tabuada, who is the Vijay K. Dhir Professor of Engineering, studies modern systems theory, particularly cyber-physcial systems, as well as geometrical nonlinear control and mathematical systems theory.

The fellow award is given to those who have made outstanding contributions as engineers, scientists, technical leaders or educators. The foundation is an organization tasked with promoting the science and technology of automatic control in all systems.
