As a part of its current series, "The Greatest Showman: Cecil B. DeMille," the UCLA Film and Television Archive screens “Union Pacific” on Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Billy Wilder Theater at the Hammer Museum.
The film follows the feud between two railroad tycoons as they build two railroads across America -- the Union Pacific and the Central Pacific --and race to the finish line at at the center of the country. They also compete for the heart of the train engineer’s daughter, played by Barbara Stanwyck. Also starring Joel McCrea, Akim Tamiroff, Robert Preston and Anthony Quinn.
"The Greatest Showman" series honors DeMille’s illustrious, four-decade career as an actor and director with screenings of 10 of his feature films through Feb. 28. Find more information and purchase tickets here.
