UCLA Distinguished Professor of Education Pedro Noguera will discuss his book, "Race, Equity, and Education: Sixty Years from Brown” (with J. C. Pierce and R. Ahram, Eds. New York: Springer, 2015). His presentation on Tuesday, Feb. 9. noon to 1 p.m. is the latest in the Bunche Authors’ Series at the Ralph J. Bunche Center Library.

The book explores the current state of race through the examination of social and educational policies and the impact they have on social progress, spanning the 60-year period since the U.S. Supreme Court's historic Brown versus Board of Education decision (1954) that the racial segregation of children in public schools is unconstitutional. The book analyzes controversial topics and provides perspective on racial and educational disparities in America.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. RSVP here. For a complete list of events, visit the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies at UCLA.
