David Myers, Sady and Ludwig Kahn Professor of Jewish History and director of the UCLA Luskin Center for History and Policy, has been appointed president of the New Israel Fund.
The organization is dedicated to promoting liberal democracy in Israel. Myers, along with the fund’s board of directors, international council members and staff will advance democracy and equality in Israel by promoting equal social and political rights.
Myers interests focus on modern Jewish intellectual and cultural history. He is a fellow of the American Academy for Jewish Research and the Los Angeles Institute for the Humanities.
