Join the UCLA Department of History for a panel discussion on World War I in the Fowler Museum's Lenart Auditorium on Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. The panel will feature James Gelvin, a professor of history and a Middle East scholar, and Ivan Berend, a distinguished professor of history whose work focuses on 19th and 20th century Europe. Other members of the panel include Glenda Sluga from the University of Sydney and author A. Scott Berg. The discussion will be moderated by Geoffrey Symcox, a professor emeritus of history at UCLA and a scholar of early modern European history. The discussion marks the fourth annual Alden-Berg Lecture.
