To discover music that is free from genre, the Aditya Prakash Ensemble will break down walls between the cultures of jazz and Indian classical music from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, in the Fowler Amphitheatre.

Through improvisation as well as compositions that uniquely blend Indian ragas and complex rhythms, with jazz’s rich harmonic structure, the group seeks to illuminate the transcendental nature of music.

As a closing day concert for the “Enduring Splendor” exhibition, presenting jewelry from India’s Thar Desert, the Adita Prakash Ensemble performs in the Fowler’s Amphitheatre to celebrate India's rich cultural heritage and future. Bring a picnic, hat and sunscreen to soak in the ensemble's musical sounds.

Adita Prakash Ensemble’s music can be streamed and purchased online.

Fowler programs are free of charge and open to the public.
