Join the UCLA Alumni Association and Student Alumni Association for UCLA’s oldest musical tradition, the Spring Sing competition, at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 19, in Pauley Pavillion.

Since its debut in 1945, Spring Sing has showcased UCLA’s most talented student performers. The show attracts celebrities, scouts and Bruins of all ages, who watch performances by up-and-coming stars and hidden gems like Sara Bareilles and Maroon 5.

Originally a competition among fraternities, the show has expanded to include a vast array of acts. including solo and duet performances, full live-bands, a cappella vocal groups, production companies and comedy skits.

Each year, a renowned contributor to the American music industry is awarded the George and Ira Gershwin Award. In recognition of George and Ira Gershwin’s contributions to American music and in honor of their gift to UCLA, the UCLA Student Alumni Association established the annual George and Ira Gershwin Award for Lifetime Musical Achievement in 1988. The 2017 Gershwin Award recipient is Grammy and Emmy winner Ziggy Marley.

General admission tickets, as well as student and alumni tickets, are available for purchase at the UCLA Central Ticket Office or online.
