UCLA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) have agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to enable collaboration in the planetary sciences between the two institutions that will promote the stature, visibility and excellence of the field by enhancing interactions among scientists and students.
The agreement will be signed by Joseph Rudnick, senior dean of the UCLA College, and JPL’s chief scientist, Dan McCleese on Wednesday, May 27 during a collaborative planetary science workshop at UCLA that will start at 10 a.m. and will be capped by the 3 p.m. signing ceremony.
The workshop will be of broad planetary scientific scope, with topics ranging from the small bodies and planets of the solar system to the exoplanetary systems of other stars. Scientists from both UCLA and JPL will be speakers.
