Nov. 3: Workshop on new trends in human migration

The migration of people is the center of many political, economic and cultural discussions today. To better understand these movements and their effects, UCLA’s Center for European and Russian StudiesCenter for Near Eastern StudiesLatin American Institute and Center for Mexican Studies will host a workshop on new trends in migration with a special emphasis on European and North American perspectives. The event will be held from 12 noon to 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 3  in Bunche Hall, room 10383.

This workshop will feature international perspectives on migration from Ruben Hernandez-Léon of the UCLA department of sociology; Thomas Lacroix, deputy director of migrinter at the University of Poitiers, France; Swanie Potot of the French National Center for Scientific Research; and Rodolfo Garcia Zamora of the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas.
