The UCLA department of information studies and Melnitz Movies are hosting a screening of the documentary film “The Cleaners.” Following the movie, there will be a Q&A with the filmmakers and professor of information studies Sarah T. Roberts, who served as a consultant to the film. The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the James Bridges Theater.
“The Cleaners” explores the world of digital cleaning, the process by which the internet purges violent, pornographic and political content that is deemed inappropriate. The documentary investigates who is responsible for ridding the internet of its horrors and how they control what we all see.
Admission to the event is free. RSVP to ensure a spot for yourself as seating is limited.
