Jens Lindemann, professor of trumpet at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, was named to the Order of Canada for his skill as a world-renowned trumpet soloist. Lindemann, a native of Edmonton, Canada, is the first classical trumpet player to receive this honor, which is the highest award given by the government of Canada to citizens deemed outstanding in their fields.
Lindemann has performed in every major concert venue in the world in a career that has included appearing in London as an orchestral soloist in “Last Night of the Proms,” recording with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, playing lead trumpet with the renowned Canadian Brass and giving a Royal Command Performance for Queen Elizabeth.
Recently named International Brass Personality of the Year by Brass Herald, Lindemann won the prestigious Echo Klassik in Germany and has received Grammy and Juno nominations.
