Professor Richard Roll, Distinguished Professor of Finance and the Joel Fried Chair in Applied Finance at UCLA Anderson School of Management, received the 2014 Dean’s Prize for Outstanding Faculty Mentorship of Ph.D. Student. The award, which was presented by Dean Judy Olian during a ceremony on June 3, recognizes Roll for his decades of mentorship, the excellent placement of his students and the Ph.D.-level courses he has taught.
Also honored was Paul Hoban, who earned his Ph.D. at UCLA Anderson in June. Hoban received the Xavier Drèze Prize for the most outstanding research paper by a Ph.D. student. His paper was titled, “Trading Reputation for Traffic: An Examination of Restaurant Daily Deal Decisions.”
