Join UCLA professor of history William Worger , who specializes in the social and economic history of southern Africa, at the Fowler Museum for a discussion of post-apartheid South Africa.
Worger's talk, on Thursday Oct. 16 at 12 p.m., ties into the current Fowler exhibition "Bearing Witness." These vibrant embroideries, produced by community art groups approximately six years after the end of apartheid, display depict diverse issues affecting life in South Africa. Worger will share insights about the historical events and personal experiences that inspired these brightly colored, socially engaged tableaux.
