The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television has received a $250,000 grant from the William Randolph Hearst Foundation. The grant will establish the Hearst Theater Lab Initiative, which has three components.
The school will create a playwright-in-residence program, which will launch in 2018 and allow for playwrights from around the world to develop new works and teach master classes. The Hearst gift will also help expand the school’s playwriting program for undergraduates and graduate students. The gift will also provide grants to UCLA TFT faculty to help produce new plays and other works-in-progress.
