The National YoungArts Foundation presents performances, exhibitions and writers’ readings by the most promising artists in the region. Inspired by the transformative experience of YoungArts' signature program, YoungArts Los Angeles exposes local audiences to the next generation of artists making waves in their community.

YoungArts’ signature program is an application-based award for emerging artists ages 15-18, or in grades 10-12, from across the United States. Selected through a blind adjudication process conducted by an independent panel of highly accomplished artists, YoungArts winners receive valuable support, including financial awards of up to $10,000, professional development and educational experiences working with renowned mentors, and performance and exhibition opportunities at some of the nation’s leading cultural institutions.

Tickets for YoungArts Los Angeles are $15 and can be purchased online.

Presented in partnership with UCLA's Center for the Art of Performance, this year’s YoungArts Los Angeles public offerings will include:

  • Jazz instrumental performance directed by Ron McCurdy, featuring writers’ readings led by Joan Morgan at 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, in Schoenberg Hall;
  • A classical music performance directed by celebrated cellist Jeffery Zeigler at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 31, in Schoenberg Hall;
  • A multidisciplinary performance directed by award-winning dancer and choreographer John Heginbotham in collaboration with Gabrielle Stravelli and Daniel Pettrow at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, in Royce Hall.
