Rajit Gadh, a professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, has been elected a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Gadh’s area of study is focused on information-based design and manufacturing. Beginning with his dissertation, Gadh has used virtual-reality-based geometric modeling to create 3-D models and to reduce existing modes to linear complexity problems. A current project involves using wireless technology to improve efficiencies for electric car use.
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ mission statement is to promote the art, science and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe. ASME fellows, who comprise only about 3 percent of ASME's membership, are nominated by their peers.
