Jane Austen and the Prehistory of Game Theory

On April 23, Michael Chwe, UCLA associate professor of political science, delivered a talk to the Marschak Colloquium titled "Jane Austen and the Prehistory of Game Theory." In the talk, Chwe argued that Jane Austen's six novels, among the most widely beloved in the English language, can be understood as a systematic analysis of strategic thinking.
