In examining the vocal styles of former President of France Nicolas Sarkozy, UCLA voice scholar Rosario Signorello found that the political leader used abrupt changes in pitch frequencies, with short pauses and a faster rate of speech to covey dominance. His style contrasts with that of his successor, President Froicise Hollande, Signorello found.
