UCLA Architecture's Expands 'Suprastudio'
Curbed LA reported Tuesday that the UCLA Department of Architecture and Urban Design has expanded its Suprastudio architecture master's program, which will now be taught by Frank Gehry, Thom Mayne and Greg Lynn, and that the department has acquired a new satellite location in Playa Vista. Hitoshi Abe, chair of the department, was quoted.
Chicago Schools Still Segregated
A story that aired Tuesday on WTTW's “Chicago Tonight” about segregation in Chicago schools referenced research by the Civil Rights Project/Proyecto Derechos Civiles at UCLA showing that in many U.S. cities, African American and Latino students attend public schools where less than 10 percent of their classmates are white.
