Sexual Orientation and Workplace Discrimination
An Associated Press article published today about gay rights groups urging President Obama to issue an executive order outlawing workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity cited research by the UCLA School of Law’s Williams Institute estimating that 16.5 million employees of federal contractors are not protected against such discrimination.
Why Underweight Babies Become Obese
Asian News International reported Thursday on a study led by Dr. Sherin Devaskar, professor of pediatrics and executive chair of the pediatrics department at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, showing that in low–birth-weight babies who become obese, the brain has higher levels of appetite-increasing peptides.
