UCLA College commencement to feature micro-lending pioneer Jessica Jackley
WHAT:
Approximately 4,800 students are expected to participate in the UCLA College of Letters and Science commencement ceremony, which will be attended by almost 12,000 family members, friends and guests.

Jessica Jackley (keynote address)
Jackley is an entrepreneur who co-founded Kiva, an innovative peer-to-peer micro-lending website that allows Internet users to lend as little as $25 to individual entrepreneurs, providing affordable capital to help them start or expand small businesses. Kiva has facilitated nearly $300 million in loans among individuals in more than 200 countries.
Madeline Grubman (student speaker)
Grubman, a graduating senior will be the event's featured student speaker and will introduce Jackley.

Because of construction in the Drake Stadium area, parking is extremely limited. Live shots of the actual ceremony (speakers, etc.) will require at least 150 to 250 feet of cable. From Sunset Boulevard, enter the campus at Westwood Plaza, then turn right on Charles E. Young Drive North. Park in the bus cut-out (map). Camera set-up areas will be provided between the Drake Stadium field and the bleachers on the west, and also at the top of the bleachers, facing the field.
Please Note: Opportunities for live shots of flag-bearers as they walk to the student seating area at the beginning of the ceremony will be possible for trucks that are in place well ahead of time. Enter the campus off Sunset Boulevard at Westwood Plaza. Turn right on Charles E. Young Drive North, then left at Parking Structure 7 and proceed to the northwest entrance to the Intramural Field. Limited parking will be permitted along the west side of the IM field (map).
**Due to fire marshal restrictions, camera crews will not be permitted to roam among the students during the ceremony.

Journalists in passenger vehicles must show valid credentials for courtesy parking in Structure 7 (beneath the IM field) or Structure 6. Permits, which are required, will be available at campus parking kiosks. The closest kiosk to Drake is off Sunset at Westwood Plaza.
