UCLA to release study on city's solar energy potential at L.A. solar forum
Broad coalition to call for innovative solar energy program
WHAT:
Los Angeles policymakers, business leaders and energy experts will gather at the Los Angeles Business Council's Solar Forum to discuss a proposal for a cutting-edge solar energy plan for the city.
The event will feature the release of a study conducted by UCLA's Luskin Center for Innovation and the LABC outlining the ways in which Los Angeles is uniquely positioned to benefit from a well-designed "feed-in tariff" (FiT) solar program. Such a program, the study indicates, would help provide renewable energy, generate substantial economic growth and create jobs in a manner that is cost-effective for city ratepayers.
In addition, a coalition of business, environmental and community groups and other organizations will launch its campaign to enact a meaningful feed-in tariff program in Los Angeles. For more information on the coalition, visit www.solarfit4la.org.
