Former Bruin water polo player banned from Beijing

The Los Angeles Times Olympics blog reported Wednesday that Brad Greiner, a former UCLA water polo player, model, and Darfur activist has had his visa revoked by Chinese officials. He planned to attend the Olympic Games in Beijing in support of Team Darfur, an international coalition of athletes committed to raising awareness and bringing an end to the crisis in Darfur, Sudan. Greiner and Joey Cheek, a gold and bronze medal-winning speed skater at the Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy two years ago, co-founded the organization and were both notified Wednesday that their visas had been yanked. Visas were also revoked for two other former Olympic athletes associated with Team Darfur, decathlete Chris Boyles and swimmer Kendra Zanotto.

That sucks! Kinda expected from the Chinese government... so I'm not sure it makes me think any worse of them than I already do... makes me more mad at the pansies at the IOC.
