Wellford W. Wilms is a professor in the Educational Leadership Program at UCLA's Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, where he has also served as director, assistant dean, and elected chair of the faculty. He has studied a wide range of organizations, from corporations and trade unions to teacher unions, public schools, universities, and police agencies. His current research aims at understanding how service organizations (higher education and police agencies in particular) adjust to rapid changes in the environment, and the implications for education and policy.
