Biography
Kent Wong, director of the UCLA Center for Labor Research and Education, is an expert on issues related to labor unions, labor relations and immigrant workers.
A labor attorney, he has conducted extensive research on immigrant workers in Los Angeles and is the author of "Philip Vera Cruz: A Peronal History of Filipino Immigrants and the Farmworkers Movement" (1992)
The Labor Center, part of the UCLA Institute for Research on Labor and Employment, serves as a bridge between the university and Southern California and has an office in downtown Los Angeles amid multiple union halls and worker centers in the heart of a diverse immigrant community.
