Biography
Mark Peterson, professor of public policy and political science, is an expert on elections and presidential politics.

Peterson's research has addressed how interactions between the president, Congress and interest groups affect domestic policy, particularly health care policy. He has written extensively on congressional responses to presidential legislative initiatives and the ways in which presidents use their relationships with interest groups to promote their political and programmatic agendas.
 
Peterson has been quoted on a variety of topics, including presidential politics, debates and primaries, U.S. domestic policymaking, health care policy, and voter registration.
