Biography
Paul Bunje is executive director of the Center for Climate Change Solutions at the UCLA Institute of the Environment. The center facilitates the collaboration of experts from multiple academic disciplines — including the natural sciences, business, law, public policy, medicine and others — as a public resource to aid government and private groups in developing solutions to the challenges presented by global warming.
Bunje is an expert on the effects of climate change on ecosystems and communities. Trained as an evolutionary biologist, he has conducted research on the genomic and population mechanisms that produce species diversity in U.S., Europe, the Middle East and the South Pacific. Prior to joining the Institute of the Environment as an associate researcher in 2008, Bunje was a science policy fellow at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he developed and evaluated policcy related to climate change, water and ecosystems.
