UCLA faculty experts advisory: LAUSD to lay off thousands of teachers

Thousands of teachers in the Los Angeles Unified School District and statewide are expected to be laid off as a result of the state budget crisis. UCLA's John Rogers is an expert.

John Rogers, associate professor of education and director of the UCLA Institute of Democracy, Education and Access (IDEA) is a frequently referenced expert on education reform and equality. A report by the institute concludes that schools with the greatest needs will be disproportionately affected by LAUSD layoffs.
