UCLA police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred on campus early Friday morning, Jan. 27, at the top of Saxon steps, according to a crime alert issued by the police department.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., police said, a male suspect called out to a female student climbing the steps in the northwest part of campus and, after a brief conversation, sexually assaulted her. The victim was then able to get away and call police, who arrived after the man had fled the scene.
The male suspect is described as white, 6 feet tall and 150 pounds, and approximately 21 years old, with short brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing shorts and a white T-shirt.
It is unclear whether the victim knew her attacker.
