Wilted tree leaves in a Hawaiian forest during the extreme drought of 2010-11, which was the worst in at least 11 years and was federally designated a natural disaster.The tree is an alahee (Psydrax odorata).


Droughts are increasing worldwide, and UCLA life sciences research shows how to predict which species will be most sensitive.
