WHAT:
The UCLA Nazarian Center for Israel Studies, one of America's premier sources of scholarship and education about Israel, will host "Israel in 3-D," a daylong conference exploring the multifaceted nature of Israel.

Panel discussions and presentations — featuring more than a dozen scholars from UCLA and other invited guests  — will focus on Israel's position in the Middle East; minority-majority relations in Israel; the relationship between Israeli and Jewish cultures; security, economics and infrastructure; and Israel and the American Jewish community.

The event will also feature producer Howard Gordon, co-creator and executive producer of the 2012 Golden Globe Award–winning television series "Homeland," which based on a popular and highly controversial Israeli television drama. Gordon will discuss his personal experiences working with the Israeli creators and the phenomenon of Israeli shows being translated into highly successful American shows.
