UCLA faculty experts advisory: Obama tells feds not to target medical pot buyers, sellers
In a memo released today, U.S. Justice Department officials instructed prosecutors and federal drug agents not to target for federal prosecution those who use or provide medical marijuana in compliance with state laws. UCLA has experts.
Mark Kleiman, professor of public policy at the UCLA School of Public Affairs, is an authority on drug-control policy and the criminal justice system. The author of "Marijuana: Costs of Abuse, Costs of Control" and "Against Excess: Drug Policy for Results," Kleiman has advised local, state and national governments drug policy and crime control.
