UCLA faculty experts advisory: Disney film features first African American princess

Disney's new animated film "The Princess and the Frog," which features the first-ever African American princess in a Disney production, opens Nov. 25 in Los Angeles and New York. UCLA has experts on African Americans in film and TV.
Darnell Hunt, director of UCLA's Bunche Center for African American Studies and a professor of sociology, is an authority on race relations, the media's coverage of race-related issues and the depiction of minorities in film and television.
