UCLA faculty experts advisory: Celebrated Mexican author Carlos Fuentes dies

Acclaimed Mexican novelist and essayist Carlos Fuentes, one of the best-known writers in the Spanish-speaking world, has died in Mexico City at age 83. UCLA has experts.
 
Maarten van Delden, professor of Spanish and chair of UCLA's Department of Spanish and Portuguese, is a world-class authority of Carlos Fuentes and the author of "Carlos Fuentes, Mexico, and Modernity" (1998).
