UCLA faculty experts advisory: No more life without parole for juveniles, court rules
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that sentencing juveniles to life in prison without the possibility of parole for murder is unconstitutional. UCLA has an expert.
Laura Abrams, associate professor of social welfare at UCLA's Luskin School of Public Affairs, is an expert in the areas of juvenile justice and criminal justice and has served as an expert witness in criminal cases involving young people. She has also testified before Congress on the treatment of young people in the juvenile justice system. See Abrams' column on giving youthful offenders serving life sentences a second chance.
