The National Football League has agreed to pay $765 million to settle a lawsuit brought by more than 4,500 retired players with advanced dementia and other health problems, as well as the families of players who have died following sports-related head trauma. UCLA has an expert.
Dr. Neil Martin, chief of neurosurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, can address the NFL suit and the long-term effects of brain injuries in sports.
