Teen Meets Lifesaving Blood Donors
An article and slide show in today's Orange County Register highlight a UCLA teenage heart-transplant recipient who met for the first time with the diverse group of 11 individuals whose blood and platelet donations helped keep him alive. Dr. Juan Alejos, medical director of UCLA's pediatric heart transplant program, is quoted in the article; Alejos and Dr. Alyssa Ziman, medical director of the UCLA Blood & Platelet Center, are featured in the slide show. Drew Turner, an assistant researcher at UCLA's Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics, and Vassilis Angelopoulos, UCLA professor of Earth and space sciences, are quoted.

Heber was quoted.
