Diplomats Tour New Medical Facility
The Los Angeles Times reports today on the visit of 41 foreign ambassadors to the new Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Monday as part of a West Coast tour for diplomats organized by the Office of the U.S. Chief of Protocol. The medical center will officially open June 29.
 
Calcium Scans Help Predict Death Risks
HealthDay News reported Monday on research by Dr. Matthew Budoff, associate clinical professor of cardiology at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center, that showed that scanning the heart’s arteries for calcium deposits helped accurately predict adults’ death risk from heart attack, stroke and other major problems.
 
Film School Dean to Be Honored
Variety reports today that Robert Rosen, dean of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, will be honored next month by the Caucus for Producers, Writers and Directors for fostering creative talent and expanding the school’s efforts to incorporate new technologies.
