Event Raises Funds for the Ahmanson/UCLA Adult Congenital Heart Disease Center


A sixth annual dinner event hosted by the Hertz InvestmentGroup and philanthropist Judah Hertz raised $155,000 for the Ahmanson/UCLAAdult Congenital Heart Disease Center. Held at the Park Plaza Hotel in downtownLos Angeles on April 27, the event was attended by more than 200 people.

The special evening, led by the only "official" Lucille Ballimpersonator, also honored two pioneers in congenital heart disease: Dr. SamuelKaplan, UCLA emeritus professor of pediatric cardiology, and Dr. Hillel Laks,professor and chief of cardiothoracic surgery and director of UCLA's Heart andHeart-Lung Transplant program.

The Ahmanson/UCLA AdultCongenital Heart Disease Center is an internationally recognized patient care,diagnostic, research and educational facility devoted to the rapidly growingpopulation of patients with congenital heart disease who have reachedadulthood.
