UCLA officials to meet with prospective students in Tokyo Nov. 4

Read this release in Japanese:
UCLA undergraduate admissions officers will be in Tokyo on Nov. 4 as part of a student recruitment tour in Asia that also includes stops in Osaka, Seoul, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Representatives will hold an information session at Tokyo's International School of the Sacred Heart, at 4-3-1 Hiroo Shibuya-ka, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The session will help explain the UCLA admissions process to prospective students and their parents.

Among the UCLA representatives who will be available at these sessions are UCLA Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools director Vu Tran and associate director Kathleen O'Kane. Tran and O'Kane were in Asia earlier this year for similar information sessions in Shanghai as part of a university-wide effort to strengthen UCLA's ties in Asia.
"Our long-term goal is to develop more opportunities for all of our students to interact with each other in our increasingly global world," Tran said.
Students come from all over the world to attend UCLA. Each year, applicants from more than 50 countries are admitted, and many UCLA students who now live in the United States were born in other countries. With more than 100 majors, UCLA's areas of study are as diverse as its student population.

The session in Tokyo is free but requires a reservation. For reservations and additional information, please visit
